Introduction to Computer Science With C++
Published in Hardcover by West Wadsworth (January, 1996)
Authors: Douglas W. Nance, Thomas L. Naps, and Kenneth Alfred Lambert
Average review score:

The book isn't good for learning c++
Firstly, a lot of the syntaxes and programmes do not work.

- The book does not offer any significantly good explanation.

- I would prevent any novice from reading the book because it it nothing but junk. It is the junkies book I have ever read. What the book is good for is just to wipe my shoes on the door step

This book is good for what it is intended for.
The book covers programming in C++, but it should not be used as a book for newcomers to programming. They should read C++ for dummies! This is basically a college text-book and needs to be used with professional instruction.

Start to Finish!
This book is for the programmer/Computer Science Major that wants to use C++ to develop abstract data types (ADT's). Tables, linked list, stacks, queues, trees with in depth implementation!

Having been a C/C++/VB programmer for the last 15 years I find this text excellent for use as a tutorial for my serious programming students.

This is an excellent book!

Cc Books Ident.pg 1st Ed
Published in Paperback by Avon (September, 1993)
Author: Nance Wright
Average review score:

Nice Try, Nice Price, but too incomplete
I realize that Wright had to be choosy when listing books and prices, but this book falls short of basic standards. I give it 3 stars for being a decent value, but the book leaves out so many essential listings that it is hardly worth buying. Furthermore, Wright fails to include critical information necessary to identifying certain first editions, such as key errors or markings. She leaves out key authors like Elmore Leonard and Shirley Jackson, and the credibility of this book is thus questionable. Nevertheless, it is far less expensive than other similar titles.

The Magic of Christmas (Leisure and Love Spell)
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Love Spell (November, 1998)
Authors: Emma Craig, Annie Kimberlin, Kathleen Nance, and Stobie Piel
Average review score:

Funny Paranormal Stories with a Holiday Twist
This anthology contains four longer stories rather than five or more shorter ones. I think that's a good idea because it gives the authors more room to work.

The stand-out story is "The Shepherds & Mr. Weisman" by Anne Kimberlin. Old cars, a lovable dog, and the celestial Mrs. Epiphania work their magic.

The second best story was "The Yuletide Spirit" by Kathleen Nance. It's about -- of all things -- a sexy Yuletide elf!

The stories by Emma Craig and Stobie Piel are not as successful, but still fun and charming.

I gave this anthology a total of C+ at All About Romance.

How to Write Poetry
Published in Paperback by Prentice Hall (December, 1990)
Authors: Nancy Bogen and Nance Bogen
Average review score:

It is amazing...
... that yet another talentless hobo got published.
No stars for this useless edition.

As long as it rhymes....
I would like to award this author and her book
minus 10 stars if I could!
(goodie that rhymes, could I get published too?!)

Concrete advice for the practical poet
Readers seeking page upon page of abstract fulff will not find it here. Also, this is a portable slim volume. The author's advice is both clear and concise from chapter one's Getting Started to chapter nine's Getting Started--Again. This is a hands on approach for those who wish to be free of academic jargon and approach the subject in an understandable way. There are exercises in each chapter and examples from past and contemporary poets. For the beginning poet, the author is very inspiring.

Law and Justice: Cases and Readings on the American Legal System
Published in Hardcover by Carolina Academic Press (December, 1998)
Author: Dale A. Nance
Average review score:

Don't waste your time
This book is very poorly written and seemingly not edited at all. I tried keeping up with the mistakes and quickly realized that there were too many to count. Also, the organization is terrible. The book does provide some interesting insights, but not nearly [the money] worth. Don't buy this book for... unless you have the misfortune to be enrolled in Nance's Justice class at the Chicago-Kent school of law. If that's the case, don't even buy the book at all. Grades are a [junk] shoot and you will quickly discover that reading the assignments is more of a waste of time than the class is a waste of money.

Theory, theory, theory
This book explains the theory behind justice and contemporary law through an exploration of historic cases and academic essays. If one is looking for a glimpse into what goes through a judge's mind while an opinion is being written, or a map to substantive and procedural justice, this is the book to read. It is organized as a case text for a law student and at times can get overwhelmingly dense, but is very comprehensive.

Mary Reibey - Molly incognita : a biography of Mary Reibey, 1777 to 1855, and her world
Published in Unknown Binding by Library of Australian History ()
Author: Nance Irvine
Average review score:

Is this fiction or fact?
Although the author has obviously done a great deal of research, she seems unable to decide whether to present historical data or historical fiction. This books also slides into a mass of quoted letters at the end, as if the author tired of having to interpret and decipher. Many excellent facts, but you do need to search for them

Snl!: The World of Saturday Night Live
Published in Paperback by Pioneer Books (November, 1992)
Authors: Hal Schuster, Scott Nance, and Kurt Fherenbach
Average review score:

A cheap knockoff of Saturday Night Live by Doug Hill
I read somewhere that Doug Hill and Jeff Weingrad were suing Schuster. This book is a bad knockoff of Hill and Weingrad's book(which) is essential for any fan of Saturday Night. All of what is in this book can be found in Hill's book. A bio on John Belushi features a picture of his brother Jim. Weak- Brocktoon
